Jane Haase and family enjoy a great weekend break at Center Parcs
CYCLING through a forest with a chill wind on your face is the perfect way to enjoy a sunny autumn day.
And this is just what my family and I did on a weekend visit to Center Parcs in Cumbria.
We were staying at Whinfell Forest on the edge of the Lake District, just an hour-and-a-half’s drive from Liverpool. Once there, having unloaded your bags, you can park your four wheels in the car park and swap them for two for the rest of your stay.
Husband Ian pulled three-year-old Nina along in a little trailer which she loved but after a wobbly start I chickened out of cycling with five-year-old James on a sort of tandem affair. Instead he had his own bike and as punishment for being a weakling, I had to get off and help him up hills when necessary.
