Twenty-two organisations, including Manchester United FC, British American Tobacco, National Museums in Liverpool and Center Parcs, have topped a league table ranking over 2,000 UK businesses and state bodies on how they manage their energy use.
The table ranks organisations that have applied to take part in the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) scheme. The scheme is open to large businesses and public sector organisations that use more than 6000MWh electricity per year, which is equivalent to an annual electricity bill of at least £500,000.
