Nieuw park in Denemarken boekbaar: Nordborg Resort

Het is officieel: Center Parcs Nordborg Resort is open vanaf 1 augustus 2025! Vanaf vandaag is dit eerste vakantiepark in Denemarken ook te zien op Centerparcs.nl.

Wil jij als een van de eerste gasten kennismaken met dit vakantiepark op het eiland Als? Het is nu al mogelijk om een vakantiehuis te boeken!

De parkplattegrond van Nordborg Resortis nu ook beschikbaar. Hierop kun je niet alleen de locatie van de vakantiehuizen zien, maar ook waar bijvoorbeeld het zwemparadijs, de kinderboerderij, de Market Dome en het Beach Cafe zijn. 

Rechtsboven zie je het water van de Oostzee. Center Parcs heeft hier een grote pier gebouwd.

Center Parcs celebrates top award as director says 'we're committed'

 Every year millions of people visit holiday parks in the UK, but many of these are missing something more and more of us are needing. With more drivers switching to electric vehicles, finding a holiday destination with charging points can be tricky, with research showing that two-thirds of the nation's holiday parks don't offer electric vehicle charging.

Center Parcs has been declared as the best holiday park to visit as an electric vehicle driver, with each UK location taking a spot in the top five, followed by Warner Hotels in the Cotswolds and Bluestone Resort in Wales. The Sherwood Forest Center Parcs site is second on the list after the Woburn Forest site, each of which has 112 charging sockets on site.

All of the organisation's sites have electric vehicle points, with a total of 510 across all locations. Jerome Baddley, Director of Sustainability at Center Parcs UK & Ireland, says, “At Center Parcs, we’re committed to operating in a sustainable and ethical way throughout our business.

"We currently have a total of 512 guest EV charging points across our five UK villages, with around 100 EV charging points at each village. While driving is far better for the planet than air travel, we are aware that travel to and from our villages could still have a big environmental impact, so we are working hard to help our guests keep this impact as low as possible."

Last minute herfstvakantie (of al boeken voor de kerst)

Na een prachtige zomer verandert de natuur in een kleurrijke omgeving en gaan we de herfst in. Bij Center Parcs geniet je samen dicht bij huis van jouw welverdiende herfstvakantie.   • Maak een prachtige herfstboom met herfstkleurige bladeren tijdens Workshop: Herfstboom** of kom naar Workshop: Vogelvoerslinger** en maak je eigen voerslinger. Deze slingers zijn niet alleen leuk om te maken, maar helpen ook de vogels met hun voedselvoorraad.

Extended collaboration with Center Parcs - The Park Playground

The Park Playground, a unique VR franchise, has announced that its virtual reality (VR) system will be integrated at a further Center Parcs location in Germany. The attraction will launch at Park AllgΓ€u this year, following its successful implementation at Hochauserland in 2023.

The system is also set to be integrated at locations in Belgium and the US. A new collaboration with Bowling Stones, a renowned bowling destination with numerous venues across Europe, will see a new deployment in Oudenaarde, Belgium, and a new partnership with Player One VR World, an immersive virtual reality destination, is bringing the system to Los Angeles. 

Player One VR World is The Park’s first facility in the United States and marks the beginning of the firm’s growth in the region.

Extended collaboration with Center Parcs

As customers seek more socially engaging entertainment, The Park Playground’s VR System enables any leisure venue to rapidly and effectively meet these expectations while driving increased footfall and revenue. The turnkey solution requires minimal space and resources. It uses The Park’s VR technical workflow and entire library of immersive VR experiences to enable operators to increase their entertainment offerings for up to 16 visitors an hour.

Erwin Lochtmans, director operational support at Center Parcs, says: “The Park VR System has allowed us to enrich the guest experience at Center Parcs Park Hochsauerland, offering entertainment options that can be different each time they visit. The Park’s VR offering is the perfect fit for Center Parcs’ family orientated, high-quality, year-round facilities and we’re thrilled to be able to offer this always-evolving entertainment option to even more of our guests at our Park AllgΓ€u village.”

The VR System will be launched at Center Parcs Park AllgΓ€u on 28 November and will include an 8×8 meter free-roam VR field and a dedicated space for Carnival Showdown, The Park Playground’s new series of VR minigames. This will be The Park’s first partner venue to provide the experience as a standalone attraction. Furthermore, guests can extend their VR experience or play the Plank Experience.

This continued collaboration with Center Parcs includes plans to integrate The Park VR System into several other Center Parcs villages in the near future.

Center Parcs launches new app in time for Winter Wonderland

 Center Parcs has launched a brand-new app in time for Winter Wonderland, which returns to Sherwood Forest on Monday 4 November.

Guests can log in to the ‘Center Parcs UK & Ireland’ app to see either their upcoming or current break, as well as details of their booked activities and itinerary during their stay – which they can start booking 12 weeks beforehand. Notifications will also be sent via the app, including activity reminders and any updates that may affect them.

Other features include an interactive map and once guests are on the village, they can select walking and cycling options with arrival times, remaining time and distance information as they travel around. Booking passes for an upcoming break can also be added to phone wallets, meaning booking details are easily accessible.

Santa’s Woodland Village will be returning to Sherwood Forest, between Monday 4 November 2024 to Thursday 2 January 2025, following its £1.6 million transformation last year – which included a Woodland Workshop for Santa and his elves, and an exciting Christmas Shop filled with festive decorations, storybooks and cuddly toys.

This year will see a new Snow Zone, where families can take advantage of a photo opportunity in the giant snow globe as snow falls around them. A range of festive activities are also available, including a Toy Making Workshop, Christmas Crafts Workshop and Elf Academy, where little ones can spend hours of fun with village elves.

Those staying at Center Parcs during Winter Wonderland can also experience Festive Storytime in the Tipi or a seasonal treat from the Forest Festive Fayre kiosk. This year the festive snack menu includes two brand-new hot chocolate favours – Rocky Road and Cinnamon Gingerbread - turkey and stuffing roll, festive and veggie snack pots, draft beer, a Christmas tree waffle with chocolate sauce and giant marshmallows toasted on an open fire.

Experiences such as Santa’s Greetings parade will be returning from 5pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, taking routes across villages in his sleigh. Little ones can also write their own Letters to Santa and receive a magical reply during their break, visit the Enchanted Light Garden filled with twinkling lights, and snuggle up to watch animated bedtime stories on lodge TVs every night from 6pm.

Center Parcs holidaymaker feared he was going to drown when he broke leg on slide

A holidaymaker has recounted a harrowing experience at Center Parcs where he broke his leg on a water slide and feared he might drown. David Cannon, 64, was about to enjoy the Canyon Ride at the Subtropical Swimming Paradise in Whinfell Forest, Cumbria, when disaster struck.

As he positioned himself to start the descent, he heard a 'crack' and felt intense pain. Trapped by the flowing water and unable to move, David had no choice but to endure the ride with his leg 'flopping' painfully along.
