'Ruimte, rust en echt even weg': zo was het gloednieuwe Center Parcs-resort in Denemarken

 Eindeloos speelplezier en de leukste gezinsactiviteiten op een weids eiland: het fonkelnieuwe Center Parcs Nordborg Resort in Denemarken heeft het allemaal. Ouders van Nu-redacteur Danique test het park met haar gezin en ontdekt waarom dit dé plek is om helemaal op te laden.

Rust en ruimte

Samen met haar man Fenno rijdt Danique vanuit Leiden in acht uur naar het eiland Als, in het oosten van Denemarken. Hier ligt het gloednieuwe  Center Parcs Nordborg Resort, het eerste Center Parcs-park van heel Scandinavië. 'Dit eiland is prachtig, weids en rustig.  Center Parcs Nordborg Resort sluit hier helemaal op aan: een en al ruimte en weidse natuur. Zelfs de wegen op het park zijn breed en de cottages staan op ruime percelen. Je hebt echt veel privacy en ruimte voor jezelf.

Blackstone 'rejects' £2bn Center Parcs bid with plans to float on stock market

 Blackstone – the private equity giant which owns Center Parcs – is believed to have rejected a joint £2bn (€2.5bn, $3.1bn) bid from BC Partners and the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) for the chain of leisure resorts.

Sky News is reporting that Blackstone rebuffed the bid, saying the offer undervalued the leisure operator.

Following the rejection, Blackstone is thought to be formally planning to float the company on the stock market in 2015, or put Center Parcs up for a formal auction.

Blackstone has owned Center Parcs since 2006 and has reported a 99 per cent occupancy for its newest site in Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire, since opening and is in talks with tourism authorities in Ireland over the construction of a resort there.

Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs: Full-Year Revenue

 Economic revenue from the tourism businesses up by almost 4% over 2024/2025, representing a fourth consecutive year of growth and bringing Group revenue1 to €1,946 million.

Adjusted EBITDA3 expected to reach more than €180 million, an increase on the previous year’s level.

(€163 million in 2023/2024, excluding the impact of non-recurring income4).

Franck Gervais, CEO of Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs (Paris:VAC), stated:

"Against a difficult economic and political backdrop across the year, especially in France, the Group ended 2024/2025 on a fourth consecutive year of growth, driven by a near-4% increase in tourism revenue.

The summer season was robust with a 3.9% increase in revenue at our brands, underpinned by both higher average letting rates, in line with the premiumisation of our offer, and by growth in the portfolio of accommodation operated, either under lease contracts or asset-light arrangements5.

Reservations to date for the winter season are also higher across all brands.

Once again, these performances testify to the relevance of our positioning in local tourism and in the promising and dynamic holiday lodging market. They also enable the Group to confirm its guidance for full-year operating profitability and to confidently approach its ambitious profitable growth plan and expansion strategy for 2030, as unveiled during September.

£2million investment in winter wonderland this Christmas

 The site in Suffolk has invested £2million to transform its Winter Wonderland, and its opening next month.


Elveden Forest has upgraded certain areas of the park for Christmas, and has added its Woodland Workshop.

From November 7, families will get the chance to meet Santa and his elves who are hard at work before the big day.

You can also get a glimpse of Santa while enjoying brunch at Huck’s, or join the team for a festive dance along to Christmas tunes at Santa’s Greetings.

The wooden chalet will have a snow-capped roof and be wrapped in pine decorations next to a huge Christmas tree.
