How nature nurtures children

A recent study by the Institute of Education at University College London for The Wildlife Trust has found that experiencing nature has an amazing impact on children. The study, which was conducted on over 450 children of primary school age, showed that after spending time outdoors, children’s personal health and wellbeing improved.

Out of all the children, 90% said they had learned something new about nature and 79% felt that their experience could help their school work. The activities they took part in included learning about ecosystems through identifying plants and wildlife, considering the needs of wild animals, and reflecting on the important role nature has in our lives.

Center Parcs offers a range of fun outdoor activities that encourage children of all ages to get fully immersed in our beautiful natural world.

Build A Nature House

Children as young as five can head outdoors for our Build A Nature House activity which gets little ones involved in understanding how to protect our creatures. Learn how to construct a miniature home for birds, butterflies or bats and take it home with you afterwards. For years after, you and your family can watch the wonderful wildlife flock and flourish right from your own back garden.

Family Nature Journal

Venture out into the forests with our Rangers who will take you and your mini nature enthusiasts on an exciting trip to discover the flora and fauna of our villages. During this experience, your family will go on a scavenger hunt, make a woodland creature, and collect beautiful findings from the forest to make your nature journal, which you’ll take home as a reminder of the fun you had. The outdoor skills you’ll learn from your experienced Ranger will stay with you and your family for a lifetime.

Wildlife Walk

Escape modern life and head outdoors for some quality time with the family on our stunning Wildlife Walk, led by one of our knowledgeable Rangers, who will guide you through the experience. With the peaceful forest as your backdrop, get ready to be immersed in the enchanting world of the plants and wildlife that inhabit our villages – the joy of seeing some friendly creatures up close and in their own environment is unforgettable for little ones.
