Activities to do this Autumn

It that time of the year again where the darker mornings and colder nights are creeping back into everyday life and we are searching for our woolly jumpers from the back of our wardrobe. This can only mean one thing – Autumn is here!

But it doesn’t have to mean all doom and gloom, if you’re visiting Center Parcs for a staycation we have a few fun family activities you can do will your little ones this autumn while embracing the golden leaves and early sunsets. Don’t forget to pre-book all of your activities online before your stay to avoid missing out!

Adventures in the forest

With Autumn here, it’s the perfect time to wrap up warm and embrace the great outdoors and there’s no better place to do that than at Center Parcs.

With acres of woodland to discover on your doorstep, your family can head out for an adventure in the forest. Get your wellies on for a crisp autumn walk or cycle through the trails, picking up any colourful leaves or conkers on your travels as souvenirs. Bring your own cycles or hire them at the Cycle Centre, where we have a range of bikes for adults and children, as well as some handy accessories.

Wrap up and set sail

Make the most of the watersports lake across our villages before some of them go into hibernation for the winter. Spend some quality time with a loved one as you set sail in our double kayaks, available at all of our villages you can learn some new skills and take in the idyllic surroundings at the same time.

Or for more of a leisurely cruise for groups of up to six, hire an electric boat. Easy to operate and completely silent, so you can have a peaceful and tranquil ride around the lake.

Autumn crafts

Interested in protecting our wildlife? Bring your little ones to join in on a hands-on workshop to build their very own sanctuary for birds, butterflies or bats. Take your wonderful creation home and give it pride of place in the garden, so you can now watch wildlife on your doorstep.

Get your blood pumping

There is no better way to warm up than with an activity to get your heart racing. If you are visiting us at Whinfell, Woburn, Longleat and Longford Forest head to the squash courts for a game of Racket Ball. A fast pace game that blends both squash and tennis, get your adrenaline pumping as you race around the court and see if you have what it takes to beat your opponent.

For the thrill-seekers of the group, get up close and personal with the colourful autumn leaves on Aerial Tree Trekking. Take to the trees as you navigate the suspended paths and obstacles as you swing, climb and balance your way through to the other end of the course – it will be sure to get the colour back in your cheeks!

Splash and slide

If you fancy a break from the great outdoors, pre-book your slot to our balmy Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Heated to 29.5C all year round, you can take a dip in our pool, whiz down the Wild Water Rapids or see if you are brave enough to tackle the ride, Tropical Cyclone.

Got questions about the re-opening of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise? Read our Q&A’s with our Group Leisure Operations Manager, Heather Perry for the inside scoop.

Any of these activities take your fancy? Browse here to discover our activities. Or to have your own autumn family adventure in the forest, book a Center Parcs break today.
