The music behind the bears

Unless you’ve been stuck under a mountain of wrapping paper and bows for the past 24 hours, you’ll know we have a brand new TV advert.

And we know what you’re thinking. No, we didn’t really put a bear on a train. We’re talking about the music! After months of searching for the right track to fit our exciting new advert, we wanted to be the first to tell you all about it. It’s called True Colours, sung by Ben Madeley.

If you’re over the age of 30 the song, True Colours, probably rings a few bells. It was penned by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and made famous by Cyndi Lauper in 1986.

Now just under two decades later, we can reveal the iconic track was recorded especially for us, by burgeoning musician Ben Madeley. Ben, 26, from Chichester picked up the guitar from a young age under his Dad’s tutelage, and was playing for chart-topper and wedding-first-dance-favourite Tom Odell while studying music at Goldsmiths College.

Fast forward to 2015 Ben and his band, Tweed & Hyenas, are now recording their first EP after being picked up by NX Records.

For an everlasting reminder of our new advert, Ben’s beautiful rendition of the classic song True Colours is now available to download from iTunes here.
